"Long long wait time for dr"

About: Maternity / Maternity Outpatient Department

(as the patient),

I came to the unit with reduce movements, wasn’t seen for 90 minutes until monitor of baby, and then was told I needed to be seen by a Dr for an ultrasound. On three occasions I was told doctor was due down in 20 mins and have now been sitting 8 hours later, still waiting on doctor. This is really poor considering it’s with reduce movements.

Dear Violet93,

Thank you for taking the time to post this feedback.

We wish to apologise for the long wait that you experienced when you attended with reduced fetal movements. Often the Doctor on duty is required to provide cover over a number of departments. When this occurs they need to priortise the most urgent cases which can at times lead to these delays. We acknowledge that this lead to a poor experience for mothers within the unit and in order to improve this we are currently reviewing our pathways within EOU to reduce these delays. We are sorry that this has not been in place when you attended.

Following your attendance we would like to wish you well for you the rest of your pregnancy,

Kindest Regards

Sarah
