"Reassured by the professionalism displayed by all staff"

I can’t thank the staff on the maternity unit at Altnagelvin enough for a wonderful experience delivering my baby mid July at Altnagelvin Area Hospital by Elective C-Section. From the moment my husband and I arrived we were reassured by the professionalism displayed by all staff. Everyone, from administration, domestic, nursing, midwifery and medical staff were kind and respectful. The anaesthetists Dr Cherian and Jenna made sure I was comfortable and spoke to my husband and I throughout the procedure which was so calming. Jenna made sure that our special first moments with our baby boy were captured on camera for us. We will forever be grateful for these previous memories.

The surgeons Ugo and Korede were excellent. The whole theatre team were fantastic. We were reassured that myself and my baby were in safe hands.

On the postnatal ward, I was treated with respect and dignity. The staff were all so approachable. As first time parents, we felt completely supported by the team caring for our baby and I. My midwife Michelle was so caring. She went above and beyond to make sure that my pain was under control and that I was prepared for going home with my newborn the day after my surgery which was what I had really been hoping for. She was mentoring 2 student midwives who were also lovely.

We are so grateful to have our healthy baby boy and cannot thank everyone enough!
