"A&E Resus QEUH Glasgow"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

To Fraser, A&E consultant at QEUH Glasgow.

You took in my dad in the middle of the night 2 months ago. We now know it was a bad case of sepsis. The prospect was grim but you and your team saved him from passing away in front of my eyes. You were calm and comforting and you made sure I spent a moment with him before he was then placed in a coma. Jenny was a nurse in resus that night who's manner was so pleasant that I was able to get through that moment a little easier.

My dad stayed in critical care for 60 days and has against the odds made it out to a ward for rehab. He is alive and well, is as sharp as before and has been told he'll be back on the golf course in a few months. I have never been more grateful to have the NHS. I have more thank yous to give but Fraser your decision making and respectful attitude that night is a memory that will stick with me forever. You did everything right and guided me through it whilst my mind was in shock. Thank you so much.

Dear Son of patient,

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience following your father's visit to our Emergency Department. We are truly grateful for your feedback especially after what was such a stressful and terrifying time for you and your father

I will pass on your lovely comments to Fraser, Jenny and the rest of the resus team, it means a great deal to know that you felt well cared for and supported during such a frightening ordeal, and to hear that your Dad is back home and soon to be back on the golf course is just wonderful. We are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to every patient, and your message is a simple reminder of why we do what we do.

Wishing your dad continued health and well-being, please pass on our good wishes to him.

with kind regards,

Karen
