"My daughter's treatment"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / General surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was rushed into hospital losing her blood cells and platelets. She was transferred to ward 37 where her treatment was diabolical.

Every doctor she saw gave her different reasons for her loss of bloods and the blood transfusion she needed. They said she needed B12 injections  but even though she couldn't walk she was discharged without any help or a continuing supply of B12.

I had to try and chase up her prescriptions. I rang the ward several times but a  nurse I spoke to was rude and said my daughter could walk even though she has a physio who states she can't. She was the most uncaring and rude nurse I have ever met or spoken to.

I found the ward horrendous due to lack of care and doctors who didn't seem to have a clue. Not a place to get better, in my experience. I  feared for my daughter's safety and even though she couldn't walk I was glad she was home with me.

I am afraid if this ward 37 is typical the NHS is at rock bottom and needs completely reforming.
