About: Antrim Area Hospital / Endoscopy Suite

(as the patient),

This was my 6th time getting this procedure done and I have to say it was done in such a professional way. To start with my veins were bad and 2 nurses had 2 goes each to try and get the butterfly in for my sedation but no luck. On going into theatre my nurse, Elsa, who was doing the scope tried again twice and finally got a vein. The procedure was over in no time and the care and attention  I received was a credit to the Health care team I had in Antrim area. I have to return for a follow up and because of the experience with my Nurse Elsa, I have no worries for that appointment.  Well done Antrim Endoscopy and thank you.

Hi, my name is Deborah Poots. I am the Deputy Ward Manager in Antrim Endoscopy Unit. Thank you for taking time to complete our care opinion feedback. This is so important to us as any feedback we receive can help determine if the care we provide is of a good enough standard or can show us areas in which we may need to improve. I apologize that you had to have so many attempts at cannulation, it is not always easy to find a vein that is suitable for cannulation and fasting for the procedures can sometimes hamper this further. I am glad that in the end though, our Nurse Endoscopist Ailsa was successful, and you were able to continue with your procedure. I am also delighted that because of your experience with Ailsa and the care and attention you received from everyone in the team that day that you have no worries about coming back for your follow up appointment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind words, which I will ensure are passed onto Ailsa and all the staff, and to also wish you luck with your next appointment with us.
