"Almost two and a half years of no help"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Endoscopy Crosshouse Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

In March 2023, my colorectal doctor referred me for an endoscopy procedure and put a referral in to gastroenterology. I have phoned the endoscopy secretaries and I am still waiting for this procedure to be carried out. I need this procedure to be able to be referred to a specialist in Glasgow. I phoned my colorectal surgeon's secretary today as I have a major new symptom and asked if I could have an appointment to speak with my colorectal doctor. Still, because we have been waiting 28 months for this endoscopy procedure, before we could proceed, she didn't know if I could get an appointment with him because I hadn't seen him for so long. Is this a joke!? I then asked about the gastroenterology referral, and she said it seemed to have disappeared, but she didn't know why.

In the meantime, I have been left to fight through every day with diarrhoea amongst many other issues. Now it would seem like I can't digest fat, as I was having steatorrhea and have had to eat low-fat to try and control it. When I said this to the secretary, she asked who diagnosed this. Well, I did because I can't get a doctor to see me and when I eat fat, I have steatorrhea; it's pretty obvious. I need so much help, yet no one is helping me! Can someone please help me?
