"My patient journey has been seamless"

About: Gartnavel General Hospital / Day Surgery Unit

(as the patient),

I was admitted for a small procedure and the care I have received has been exceptional!

The welcome we received during the preoperative care was lovely and warm and set me at ease straight away and the team were so friendly. 

Mr Mansell and Dr Kerr the anaesthetists were fantastic, talked me through the procedure and answered all my questions. 

There was a lovely nurse who saw me lying on the trolly and instantly brought me a pillow without even asking to make me more comfortable, I honestly felt spoilt rotten and definitely received patient centred care. 

Holly completed the pre op work and took me around to a different area.

I then met Suzy and John the nurse and trainee who completed more pre op checks and had such a lovely reassuring demeanour and pushed me round to anaesthetic room. 

Again greeted by Mr Kerr and another anaesthetist, who completely reassured me and I was asleep in seconds, and woke up to nurse Eden in recovery who made sure I was comfortable and gave me pain killers and anti sickness. Once on the post op ward I was given the best tea and toast straight away and the lovely nurse made sure I had everything I needed.

I can’t thank the lovely team enough, I have been so impressed with all of the care I have received in all of the areas. I cannot recommend this service enough, my patient journey has been seamless. Thank you.
