"End of life care"

I would like to pass on this compliment for the staff of Wandle 1.

They cared for my grandad until he passed away. Up until the very end they treated him with care, compassion and dignity.

I have never seen such amazing nurses, healthcare assistants and doctors. Every single one of them provided the highest standard of care, spoke to him throughout his journey even when he had passed away and supported us a family including letting us use a room to sit and care for each other. We even had doctors and nurses from other departments that knew my grandad from previous visits who came to say goodbye.

In such a sad circumstance I wouldn’t have asked for any thing else and I am so grateful for the staff for making this as pain free as possible.

They are an absolute credit to the NHS and Croydon university hospital and I will be eternally grateful for this.
