We recently visited Southampton as my daughter was having a mental health crisis. The receptionist was discreet and kind. We were called in after 5 minutes and initially assessed by the nicest HCA who found us a cubicle so that we could wait in a quiet area. Another wonderful HCA came in and did some obs and gave her a cup and a jug of water - first class service!
Next came Dom, a youth support worker, who was a total legend. He listened, he suggested so many things we had not heard of before, he followed up with everything he said he was going to do. He made her feel seen, heard and validated.
We then saw the psych liaison who was also absolutely lovely, she contacted the Trust where we are still registered to discuss a plan going forward, and finally we saw the A&E Dr who was a total pleasure.
We could not have asked for more, other than a miracle cure! Since then our local Trust have been totally useless, no support and have cancelled her appointments that were due, even though it was agreed between the liaison and CMHT this would go ahead, but that's an issue to take up with them.
If you can please pass on my thanks to everyone who saw my daughter I would really appreciate it, you were all so so lovely.
