"Heart attack after arthroscopy"

About: Western Isles Hospital / General Medicine Western Isles Hospital / General Surgery Western Isles Hospital / High Dependency Unit Western Isles Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My husband went in as a day surgical patient for an arthroscopy under general anaesthetic but in recovery he had a heart attack.

He ended up in HDU for several days and moved onto the general ward after while waiting to be transferred to the golden jubilee several days later.

It was a very stressful event but the doctors and nurses were amazingly supportive and explained the various tests and procedures they were doing.

Dear orangex44

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your husbands recent experience of NHS Western Isles.

I am happy to hear that you feel you and your husband were well supported and informed during this stressful time. I have passed on your kind words as I know that our staff are always happy to receive feedback from our patients.

I wish you and your husband well for his ongoing recovery.

Best wishes
