I was admitted to ED with severe abdominal and back pain in late July 2025. I was triaged promptly and given pain medication almost immediately.
However what I wanted to highlight was the care I received from the staff. I particularly wanted to highlight 2 nurses, Stacey and Erin, and a doctor, Stef.
Stacey and Erin were so kind and made me feel at ease. They took time not only with me but particularly with another patient who was obviously very anxious to be in ED. Despite being extremely short staffed nothing was too much for them in terms of the care I received.
Dr Stef explained things clearly to me and gave me my results quickly allowing me to be discharged. I was impressed at how he explained things in a way that was easy to understand and listened to my concerns. Having had a past experience in ED that was less than positive this experience has removed my anxieties around attending ED in future.
"Listened to, kindness of staff and clear explanations"
