"Therapy from Hollywell Hosp rehabilitation team"

About: Holywell Hospital / Carrick 4 Rehabilitation Unit Holywell Hospital / Wellness Hub Antrim/Ballymena

(as the patient),

I enjoyed getting to know James the occupational therapy over the period of time.  I had a guitar but it was broken and needed new strings, he took it and fixed it all up for me at no charge.  When i played i got it wrong sometimes and I would apologise but he said no need to.  I did not have much self confidence but he made our sessions fun with the lessons and exercises asnd has been very kind with me.

Hi

My name is Ashleigh Moss and I am the Head of Service for Holywell and RTU. Thank you very much for taking the time to leave this really positive feedback. I will ensure that it is passed onto James.

I am delighted to hear that you have benefitted from the music sessions and that you found them to be fun. We do try to make sure that our activities are person centred and enjoyable. This is something that we are continuing to develop and work on. Its great to hear that your guitar has been fixed and I hope you continue to play for many years to come.

Good luck in your journey and thank you once again.

Ashleigh

Hi Pagerx74

Thanks for the really positive feedback regarding James Bradley who supports our professional staff by providing guitar lessons on a Thursday morning at Holywell Hospital. James has a wealth of experience within the music industry and I'm glad you feel comfortable in his presence.

I'm also glad you found a guitar instructor who positively impacted on your self esteem. Learning the guitar we feel can be a great confidence builder. Learning new chords and songs we feel creates a sense of achievement.

We hope you can transfer these new skills to other areas of your life like social situations or downtime. Music overall should be fun as you said and can be a powerful outlet for emotions and self expression. James himself would often say that music itself can transport us all back to a different time or moment in our life.

We wish you well on your recovery journey and we hope you keep practicing.

Regards,

Padraig
