I became aware of my sons negative behaviour 3 to 4 years ago.
He had asked for help regarding his alcohol problems, Nov 2022. From then chaos and mayhem ensued. I was overwhelmed by my son's problems and his family, with demands on my time, to help and support, unknown to me at that time i was not able to see clearly what was happening. I became aware of the PSL through inclusion and was offered help, one to one and within groups, i was becoming more unwell daily by the situation, watching my son struggle was heart-breaking.
I believes he would die on a daily basis, and became constantly hysterical and extremely frightened, I met Karen and she was able to listen and guide me. I am so very thankful, for her extraordinary support, I'm convinced I would have become extremely unwell if not worse.
She gave me the space, safety, and understanding , guidance to unleash my various confusing emotions. With Karens kind help and the group support continuing, including talks from Johnny, I at last feel able to live and accept.
My son is now sober for last few months he moved back to my home with me as he lost his home, wife almost his life he is determined to stay sober to reconnect with himself and his children. These wonderful supporters may never know just how much they have done and are continuing to do for my mental and physical health and I THANK YOU..
