"Amazing and supportive care"

I want to express my thanks to all the staff at Rubislaw ward, perinatal mental health support, labour ward, feeding service and health visitors for their care and support over the last 5 years. I had a difficult experience 5 years ago which resulted in the loss of my baby and this has resulted in a lot of challenges. 

The staff at Rubislaw ward 5 years ago were incredible. Looking back at that time is very painful but the staff will always have a special place in my heart and I am forever grateful to them. 

I’ve since went on to have two healthy baby’s, one in 2022 and one this year. We had so much support from a mental health point of view and my pregnancy’s would have been 10 times more challenging if I didn’t have the support from Shona. She is incredibly easy to talk to and an absolute fountain of knowledge. The service is invaluable to mums who need support.

The midwives in the labour ward are amazing. Kyra who was my midwife for my second (born June this year) was so intuitive to my needs and seemed to know what I needed before I did! Very calm and instilled confidence which was exactly the type of reassurance I needed! A little shout out to Sandra the student midwife, she was so calm and caring and is definitely heading into the right profession.

The health visitor team at Cove have been so supportive with my second born, very attentive and I have felt comfortable to ask all the ‘silly’ questions. They referred me to the feeding service, the feeding co-ordinator Jill was also incredibly supportive and really listened to our feeding problems and was able to give me plenty of reassurance and advice.

From the scanning department to the labour ward from start to finish the services in Grampian have been excellent. All staff really do care and want to make a difference, I cannot fault anyone.
