"Discharged without answers"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Colorectal surgery & stoma care

(as the patient),

I have been suffering from stomach pains and constipation, which I believe led to hernias through straining  - discovered through a scan. After 2 years of Consultations with the Colorectal Surgery Department, having CT Scans, Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, I am still with the pains and constipation.

I believe the letter I received from the Surgeon discharging me from the Department is very dismissive and uncaring, after I was told that I would have a telephone appointment to discuss the outcome. Whilst antispasmodics, such as Buscopan, making a food diary and considering trying FODMAP diet were suggested and I was referred "back to the kind care of my GP".

I really thought that with today's technology in Medical Sciences, the answer would not be just that you have a long loopy bowel. From the latest Colonoscopy Report and previous promise of the telephone appointment, I'm still left with questions I wanted to have clarification on, which now will not happen.
