"A nurse who showed great care and compassion"

About: Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

I wanted to make a specific post here this morning due to the level of care I received at Causeway Hospital from the moment of my arrival to my departure.

Following a doctor on call discussion, I was advised to go to A&E due to not passing urine. Doing so, I was terrified. I’ve never experienced or ever thought something like this would happen me especially at my age.

Upon my arrival I was greeted by a nurse Ion. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left Ion made the entire hospital trip as comfortable easy and thorough as it could have been. After some blood tests and bladder scans Ion informed me I would need a catheter inserted to help me relieve my symptoms.

From this moment I started panicking and freaking out. Ion made this entire process so straightforward and comforted me through the entire thing. The level of care from Ion was absolutely incredible and I seriously could not have asked for a better nurse to guide me through the process. Consistent checkups on my comfort, my pain and how I was mentally the entire visit.

Ion is an absolute credit to the Causeway Hospital, peers and patients. I cannot thank this man enough for his level of care and passion for the job he does. Thank you very much Ion for making me at ease with my entire situation! A credit of a man and a credit to any healthcare provider he works for.
