"Golden jubilee hospital, total knee replacement"

(as the patient),

I had a total knee replacement as a day patient and I was very anxious before my op. I have to say that every member of the hospital team went out of their way to be understanding and helpful during what, for me, was a very stressful experience.   

Everything was well organised and co-ordinated with all staff members working together efficiently and effectively. 

I had plenty of time to discuss the procedure with surgeon Mr Welsh and Mr Falaha, anaesthetist, both of whom put me at ease and made the experience more bearable than I could ever have anticipated. 

Aftercare in ward 4 was dealt with efficiently and kindly.  Physios and occupation therapy staff were very helpful and encouraging. All in all, the whole experience was quite different from what i had been expecting. 

I should also add that pre-op visits to the jubilee were carried out efficiently with minimum delay.  all in all, a very positive experience.

Now that I have had several weeks of recovery, it might be useful for others to read that the hospital continues to support and encourage post operatively. There is a follow up phone call and a helpline available - very reassuring when any questions or worries about recovery arise. All in all, excellent help and support from start to finish. Thank you!
