"I have emphysema and had invaluable advice"

About: Specialist Therapy Services / Pulmonary Rehab (Nottingham West)

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with emphysema 2 years, over a period of time i found i was getting breathless really quickly which i found frustrating & struggled with. I was referred to pulmonary rehab to learn how to manage my breathing. Initially i was apprehensive, but the ladies at rehab were brilliant.

Nothing is too much trouble, they listen to you're concerns, & certainly for me, point you in the right direction to find the right help. I was told just before i started rehab i would need to be on oxygen for 16 hours a day, but karen, one of the nurses was determined she could get my oxygen levels up. Success. After 6 weeks my levels are up, not to 100%, but better than they were. I'm now discharged for this year, but will be back next year. The service & advice this course provides are invaluable & much appreciated.

Dear 61racer,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

I'm glad you benefited from the course, and well done for improving your oxygen levels through your exercise programme.

I will ensure the team receive your wonderful feedback on the care they provided.

Kind Regards

Ilona
