Thank you for your lovely comments, on care opinion. We really appreciate this and I will let staff know that you were happy with the care and compassion provided. Bertie has worked in the minor injury and illness service in Angus for a long time, and really enjoys all the interactions with patients - especially children. I'm so pleased to hear that the staff were great with your granddaughter.

Emergency depts such as the one in Ninewells hospital are open 24/7 to provide care to patients who have life threatening emergencies that can't wait. Ninewells also have the facilities and specialist care to deal with patients who then require ongoing treatment.

The minor injury service in Angus is run by specialist nurses who provide urgent, but not emergency care, Patients accessing our service via NHS 24 or who have been referred in, receive the care they need in the most appropriate place as close to home as possible. Minor Injuries also tend to occur during the day when people are busy and not so much in the overnight period. I hope this helps to explain why the service isn't open 24/7 but other services are.
