"Felt like a waste of an appointment"

About: New Stobhill Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Used meds to clear bowl the day before was in theatre ready to be sedated when I was told in the doctors opinion I didn't need the procedure. They seemed to be annoyed at me for things written in my notes, said I didn't have ibs as I'd had two clear tests but a previous colonoscopy confirmed this.

My doctor sent me back to Stobhilll because of excruciating pain which I was still experiencing. The doctor told me they would send me a bowl screening kit, if it didn't come back negative they would arrange a colonoscopy. Why not just do this procedure when I was in the theatre, why waste a scarce appointment, I'm very disappointed as up until yesterday I've had nothing but great care at Stobhill. The nurses were kind and considerate nothing was a bother for them.

Hi yankeeyx48

I am very sorry and disappointed to read your comments regarding your visit to endoscopy at Stobhill. This is something that we do not like to happen.

Unfortunately as your comments are anonymous I cannot investigate what went wrong but if you would like it discussed further please do not hesitate to contact me on the email address below.

Once again I do apologise for the way you feel you have been treated.

Regards Margaret
