"Ramone ward 3 C.A.H"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Craigavon Area Hospital / Stroke Care (Ward 3 Ramone) Radiography services / CT Scans Radiography services / MRI Services

(as a service user),

Was admitted to ED at Craigavon Area Hospital unable to walk straight.. Some weird total loss of balance thing that was totally new for me and frankly extremely scary to be honest... anyways things were pretty busy as we've all com to expect in the north of Ireland just like elsewhere but  got to Triage and got to see a Dr and then things stepped up a few gears ...went to CT for a scan which was inconclusive followed by a portered wheelchair trip up to Ramone 3 stroke ward ...

Got settled in by what I can only describe as the heavenly crew, well that's where I'd thought I'd landed in..I mean it's not every day you end up with five of the most professional lady's. I wasn't there that long before (using the my chart app) I seen there'd be another Porter to take my for an MRI scan... All great care taken of me and my issues...so back to my side room 5 and them the angelic crew arrived and we're doing all the plugging and fitting IV line etc..it never stopped bang bang bang.. ok I'd better not make this a novel...I was treated like a human being and not a commodity.. they took the time to explain everything and even went above and beyond to make my first stay in hospital actually enjoyable..yeah I said that correctly..at one stage I thought I was the only patient there as the round the clock care was supreme, they are 'people' People anyways with their Total care and obviously head chief bottle washer The kindly and extremely well thought of by ALL the staff in that ward and others no doubt! Dr McCormick if my dizzy head remembers correctly hehe

The good Dr diagnosed me with the aid of the scans and regular 'Obs' exactly what the problem was and in my case more importantly what it Wasn't!! He'll know what I mean 😉..so on the third day I was walking straight and without hugging walls and other other fail safes....mind blown! Did I mention yet another angel, the physiotherapy superstar 'you know who you are' explained exactly what was now required of me ... exercises etc I stared on them as she was going out my room door lol ...

ok apart from all those superstars there were me 'feeders' ...I didn't go hungry 😉.. both day and night crews of everyone that felt with me over this few days were beyond professional and human and took the time they had to come and introduce themselves to me .. To be honest they couldn't leave me alone 😆 not once had I to actually ask for anything as they were there doing their individual jobs....but as one big team...just incredible ...They may not always remember me ...well a few will hehe but believe this I will remember all of them and a weekly clap is not what they deserve.... It's treating with the same and better respect I received from EACH one of them and as importantly PAID PROPERLY for the magic they spread to patients they probably don't realize... Yeah I heard them in the wee small hours and during the day hold hands and just a little bit chat or some human touch unseen by most .. but I seen them...so next time you see one of these NHS staff let them know you see their wings and buy that coffee or reach past them at the checkout and dip your card for their bill...the thing is they don't even ask for thanks ... Pay them right and thank them... A weekly clap is great but doesn't pay their bills especially in these hard times..

Ps please note I was in no way bribed with extra toast and yogurt pots as well as a big mug of tea/coffee or beaten with that loose locker door (that I sorted out) to make this true and honest review... honestly..I swear .. or yeah last point it would actually be impossible to pay them what the team are really worth but for God's sake at least try ... sitting here in discharge as I write this and hope I get out before any of the Team see this and beat me some more 😂
