I attended an outpatients appointment for respiratory earlier this week, slightly early, I approached reception and was directed to nearest waiting room. I was promptly called by the support worker to carry out observations prior to my seeing the consultant. She was friendly and chatted whilst carrying out her tasks, very professionally, I was then ask to sit back in the reception area to be seen by the doctor, this was only a matter of minutes and I was called through, the consultant, thanked me for being prompt and spent considerable time going over my symptoms, and past medical history, at no time did I feel I was being rushed, examination was quick and easy before he explained how we would proceed and what further tests he recommended. Only negative was waiting list times, which were about a year. Overall, it was a positive experience and all staff were lovely and very professional, clinical and administration, securing parking space just outside was a bonus.
