"It is about myself and a bit of stress and anxiety and a bit of a breakdown."

About: Leverndale Hospital / Mental Health Rutherglen & Cambuslang Locality Support Service / Social Work - Community Mental Health Team Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

I will say that I've been going thru a bad patch in dealing with certain issues pertaining to dealing with a parent in hosp and care homes.

I'd got myself totally inebriated with alcohol and hadn't been eating properly at times maybe forgetting BCS of a brain issue I also have. I was very disappointed with myself in letting myself down and the shame of me and my problem.

That being said I can't thank and praise enough the ambulance staff, nurses and mental health awareness unit and team for their added support in firstly listening to me and for me not this wanting to harm myself and take my own life.

I also must praise the added unit for calls in on me and the help and support I'm gaining from Cambuslang gate from a resources worker.

It's good that there is help and support from the NHS for people with problems not unlike my own but far worse. Thank you NHS. ❤️.

Dear Johnb45,

Thank you so much for sharing your story. We’re truly sorry to hear about the difficult time you’ve been going through and like my colleagues above I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to speak openly about such personal challenges.

It means a great deal to hear that our ambulance staff, along with the nurses and mental health teams, were able to offer you the support and care you needed when you were feeling at your lowest. Listening, showing compassion and helping people feel safe and valued are at the heart of what we strive to do and your kind words will be deeply appreciated by everyone involved in your care.

We’re also glad to hear that you’re receiving ongoing support from Cambuslang Gate and that you’ve found strength in the resources available to you. Your message is a powerful reminder of the importance of accessible, compassionate care for those facing mental health and personal struggles.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. We wish you continued strength and support on your journey.

Warm regards,
Marie Kennedy
