"Yes, I was the patient"

I was being treated as a Gynaecology outpatient recently, and was seen by Kerrie (nurse) and Yvonne (healthcare assistant) at Perth Royal Infirmary. I was anxious about my appointment and what the outcome may be, however they both made me feel so at ease, it seemed like second nature to them. 

I work in a gender specific service to understand the skill base required to work with women when emotions and/or anxieties are high, in a trauma informed way and I have to say, their practice is absolutely underpinned by this. 

Their professionalism and sense of calm was something I’ve rarely experienced within a clinical setting and I felt it necessary to highlight to yourselves. 

I am so thankful they supported me, and treated me, the way they did.
