"Compassionate, caring, and sympathetic"

About: Gynaecology / Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic

(as the patient),

At 11 weeks pregnant, I began to experience some bleeding and made an appointment at the early pregnancy unit in Ninewells, Dundee.

Unfortunately, as I had feared, I was miscarrying. I was so scared, upset, and anxious, but the staff were compassionate, caring, and sympathetic at every appointment.

While I'm certain all the team are just as kind, I want to mention the two people who made this experience so much more bearable: Kate and Buttercup. They were both amazing throughout every stage of the process; they made sure I (and my partner) were ok and ensured we had all the information we needed.

They are two of the most lovely, genuine, and compassionate people who are perfect in their roles at EPAC. They both deserve recognition for how kind and considerate they are.

Dear giftjn82

Firstly, please let me say how sorry I am for your loss.

We really appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback on the care you received throughout your patient journey, at what could only be a very difficult time for you, your partner and family.

We really do appreciate how very difficult it must have been for you both, and anything we can do to make this a little easier by using compassion and care then it is the least we can do. It is gratifying to learn that this was achieved for you.

Please be assured that your feedback will be shared with all concerned, especially Kate and Buttercup.

I hope you are recovering and wish you all the best in the future, if we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Denise Marshall, Senior Charge Nurse, Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Outpatient Services, Ninewells
