"Extremely reassuring and kind"

About: South Tyrone Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit South Tyrone Hospital / Radiology

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter unfortunately suffered a deep laceration to the tip of her finger, when we arrived to Minor Injuries she was seen immediately as the staff could see she was in evident distress. The nursing and radiography staff were extremely reassuring and kind towards her.

They took their time and remained professional and person centred throughout. Donal the ENP did an exceptional job suturing the finger and due to him and the staff's calm presence and communication skills she was able to tolerate the procedure with minimal pain.

The follow-up care was also excellent, providing us with timely follow up ENP review and x-ray appointments. This positive care experience helped alleviate what was a very stressful time for her. We are lucky to have this service in South Tyrone.

Hi Egon92,

Delighted to read about your positive experience within the Minor Injury unit with what sounded like a very traumatic experience for your daughter.

The team strive to provide high levels of care for all patients attending the unit. As a team we are very thankful to patients who take the time to respond to the unit about their experience.

I hope your daughter is recovering well from her injury and thank you again for your kind response. I will share with the staff involved.
