"End of life care for my mother"

Our mother was admitted to the Ulster Hospital Dundonald following a catastrophic stroke and spent her final few weeks in Ward 5E under the care of Dr Whitaker.

We would like to commend the excellent care and attention my mother received from all the staff on the ward.

The medical staff, nursing staff and domestic service staff all treated us as a family with kindness and compassion , always ensuring not only that my mum was comfortable but that we as a family were fully informed and cared for as well.

The little chats, cups of tea, honest difficult conversations and the excellent care given to my mum with great dignity will not be forgotten and made a very difficult time bearable.

The follow up care after my mums passing was greatly appreciated by my dad and helped him navigate the grief.

We cannot thank the team on 5E enough.
