About: Mental Health Community Services / Condition Management Programme

(as a service user),

I was diagnosed with a rare Brain condition which needed urgent brain surgery, this resulted in complications which resulted in two further surgeries so within 12 weeks I had 3 brain surgeries and 5 weeks in hospital, and insertion of a VP Shunt. 

This resulted in me being unable to return to the career I gave 24 years too and loved. I was medically redeployed which was extremely challenging as I had difficulty retained information.  All of the above caused me severe depression and anxiety leaving me unfit for work. I was then referred to CMP. 

I enjoyed having one to one sessions with Marie. I enjoyed the information sessions online and liked the choice given on the online sessions.I felt that i mattered and not just a number

Good afternoon, thank you for letting us know about your experience with NHSCT's Condition Management Programme (CMP). It seems that you have had a challenging time with your health and subsequent life changes and adjustments. You mention that your engagement with CMP allowed you choices and was delivered around your needs and goals. It is reassuring to hear that your individual sessions with your Health Care Professional -Marie, were of support and value to you.

Hi Sinead,

Thank you for your reply, The challenge of health will continue as I adjust to living a new normal with my health, it is great to have CMP to support people facing such huge challenges. Thank for your response it shows me sharing a little snippet of my story has been read by at least one person. Al least one person and Marie will get the feedback she deserves to know she was a deeply valued.
