Life changing surgery (64 days in ICU) - peak covid - home after six-month hospital care - complex aftercare support required plus support for a high above-knee amputation due to ruptured aneurysm - the District Nursing Team (in particular Donna) saved my life and made it possible for my wife to care for me at home.
The professionalism and dedication to service shown by the District Nursing Team has been of the highest quality throughout my contact with them. I have no doubt that without their care, devotion and friendship life would be very different. The presence of the District Nursing Team enabled an earlier discharge from hospital, aiding a more comfortable recovery for me in my home setting, and knowing they were on call 24/7 prevented my wife from feeling overwhelmed and isolated as she cared for me. Without this help there is no doubt I would have remained in a hospital bed for some considerable time. I will always be eternally grateful to Donna and our District Nursing Team.
