"I very quickly received excellent care"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Accident & Emergency Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Coronary Care Unit (CCU) (J Centre) Scottish Ambulance Service

(as the patient),

I was taken to IRH by ambulance from Largs health Centre due to severe chest pains.

I very quickly received excellent care at the emergency dept and was diagnosed with pericardial effusion. I spent 3 days in intensive care on J floor where once again the care I received was amazing.

I would like to thank Dr Shelly at Largs Medical Centre, the paramedics who took me to IRH. All the incredible consultants, doctors and nurses who cared for me in the emergency dept and intensive care on J floor. I have so much gratitude and admiration for you all.

Thanks and best wishes.

Dear TIERCEL

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience following your admission to the Inverclyde Royal Hospital. We’re very pleased to hear that you received such excellent care throughout what must have been a very frightening and difficult time.

It’s incredibly heartening to know that from the moment you were seen at Largs Health Centre, through your emergency care and time in intensive care, you felt well looked after and supported. We are especially grateful for your kind words about Dr Shelly, the paramedics, and all the consultants, doctors, and nurses involved in your care — your gratitude and recognition mean a great deal.

We will ensure your thanks are passed on to all the teams mentioned, including those in the Emergency Department and ICU. Feedback like yours provides a real boost to our staff and reminds them of the important difference they make every day.

Wishing you continued strength and good health in your recovery.

Kind Regards

Kevin

Dear Tiercel,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your recent emergency admission to IRH. I was truly heartened to read your kind words about the care you received from the initial involvement at Largs Health Centre, to the ambulance journey, and your time in intensive care.

As the Patient Experience Manager for the Scottish Ambulance Service, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your appreciation of the paramedics who attended to you. It means a great deal to our teams to know that their support and professionalism made a difference during what must have been a very distressing time.

I would love to be able to pass this wonderful feedback onto the crew involved. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

On behalf of all of us at the Scottish Ambulance Service, I wish you continued recovery and all the very best.

Warm regards,
Marie Kennedy
