"My Journey"

About: Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery New Victoria Hospital / Rehabilitation Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Stroke care (Wards 56 and 68)

(as the patient),

I suffered a heart attack towards the end of last year and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital  I would like to thank everyone there for all the care shown to me I was then under the auspice of the Golden Jubilee Hospital Clydebank where I  was in Ward 3 East awaiting a heart bypass operation under Dr Sutherland whom I owe a great debt. That gratitude is extended also to Dr Church, Ward 3 East, the ICU and the Hdu and all the staff at the Jubilee for their care, kindness and consideration shown towards me. Forgive me if I do not name everyone individually but there are so many involved in my welfare and eventual recovery  Upon discharge from Jubilee I was under the guidance of the Heart Rehabilitation Clinic at the New Victoria Hospital where I would like express my thanks to Susan and the staff there

Finally I commenced Exercise Classes and I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude to the physios William, Hilary and Jenna for pushing me to reach my full potential

There are so many people who have assisted me on my journey so if I have omitted anyone I ask for your forgiveness There is one category I have not mentioned and that is my own Family who have endured what I have, have supported me and continue to do so to this present day and I try to be worthy of them

Dear Much Gratitude

Thank you for sharing your remarkable and moving account of the care you received across multiple NHS services during what must have been an incredibly challenging time for you and your loved ones.

It’s truly humbling to hear how teams from the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, the Golden Jubilee Hospital, and the New Victoria Hospital — as well as the wider cardiac rehabilitation and physiotherapy teams — supported you throughout your journey, from emergency care to life-saving surgery, and onward into recovery and rehabilitation.

It is also wonderful to hear that Susan and the staff at the Heart Rehabilitation Clinic, along with physiotherapists William, Hilary, and Jenna, made such a positive and lasting impact during your recovery.

We know how vital family support is during recovery from a major health event, and your closing words reflect the deep appreciation and strength you draw from them. It’s evident that your journey has been one of courage, resilience, and gratitude — and our staff will be honoured to know they played a part in it.

On behalf of everyone involved in your care, thank you again for your generous words. We wish you continued health and strength on your road ahead.

Kind Regards

Kevin
