Recently I was admitted to ward 103 at approx. 830pm,
I was settled into my room and a nice nurse came along and said they would be my nurse for the night. I explained all the medications I took and that i only had my co-dydradmol with me as I wasn't expecting to be admitted.
It then came to approx 10pm and HCSWs were doing a supper trolley, both very kind and polite and I was offered a sandwich as I was new onto ward which I was very grateful for as was hungry now.
I was hooked up to a drip, then my oral medication came through but there was no painkillers in it so I went to take 2 x co dydradmol from my bag and was told I couldn't as there was no label on bottle! Nurse said they would get doctor to prescribe some, I then fell asleep due to my tablets I take.
I woke up at 130am in horrendous pains in my legs that had me screaming in pain. I buzzed the buzzer and the nurse came in and said, what? I said please help me with these legs, i need something. They came back and again said would get a doctor to prescribe something. One hour later still not back so buzzed again and she goes what now? I said my legs, please help me or am going to cut them off! At this point she asked for my co-dydramol and they locked it up! Any way 20 mins later finally comes back with painkillers.
I could be here all day writing complaints about what I experienced on this ward. Staff attitudes, medication errors , getting into trouble for reading my own notes (which, may I add, were left hanging in a corridor for any one walking passed to read, breaching my right to confidentiality).
I am more hoping i get a reply to this so I can discuss further as what's written above is just a small part of what I experienced.
