I had phoned the helpline number on the Friday and couldn’t believe the quick response I got with an appointment for the Monday! I wasn’t expecting to be seen so soon so I was absolutely delighted by the speedy response but a bit worried at the same time. Was I actually going to be able to quit smoking after 40 years? I had never once attempted to stop and always felt it would be too hard for me to achieve it and I really worried that I wouldn’t have the willpower to quit. I also had some health concerns and as I was about to get implants (smoking had ruined my teeth) I knew I had to quit or else the implants were at risk of failing. With some trepidation I had my last cigarette on the 14th of April.
Louise at Clydebank has been a massive support and such a great cheerleader for me. It was great to talk to someone who could fully empathise with my situation and approach things in a non judgemental way. The patches and lozenges worked wonders and all the coaching that went along with it. I’m so glad I made the call and received the appointment a couple of days later.
I’m 12 weeks quit and have saved over £1000. Please make that call, if I can do it anyone can.
