"Planned appointment!! Pre-op"

About: Wycombe Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I had a planned Pre-Op assessment appointment and was assessed extremely efficiently but was then requested to attend pathology for a blood test. On booking into the clinic I was asked if I had an appointment? Well I have a pre-op appointment was my answer but this didn’t count and I was then informed that it would be at least 1 hour ….. this seemed a little unfair as I did have an appointment but it seems that once you are out of Pre-Op you are on your own! 1 hour passed by and the counter hardly moved so I went to the reception to see if something was wrong. I’m then told it should improve at 12 noon as the pre-booked appointments were over …. Another 30 mins later and I’m still waiting. I am so fed up with being fed lies and excuses by the NHS! During Covid we all got it but it’s now 2025 and the service is worse than shocking! If it wasn’t for an urgent operation I would have walked out now close to 3 hours! And for the wait they charge me more than £7 for this! Pathology was an absolute joke @wycombe hospital
