"Care and Compassion"

I recently had a short stay in the Vale of Leven Hospital due to unforeseen circumstances. My first visit was to Minor injuries unit where Kayleigh the ANP along with her colleagues Andy and Pauline showed me nothing but exemplary care from start to finish. I think what makes it harder is I actually work in a hospital myself and as an employee you never want to be a patient, more so because you always believe there is someone worse off who needs the care.

I then went through x-ray who yet again are another department who don't get recognised enough who were so gentle and kind.

Next stop off was Medical Assessment Unit where I felt the most guilty as I know their staff are run off their feet with numerous patients. They took me into the department and their kindness and support was second to none. Emma the senior charge nurse has an amazing team from her HCSW to the Nurses and Doctors.

Final trip was to AMRU where like MAU care was second to none from every single member of the Staff. These departments made sure I left with the right care packages in place and medication to support my diagnosis.

My problems have taken a few months to be diagnosed and all happened rapidly unfortunately, my life has definitely been changed but thanks to the departments I am talking about they have made each step easier to deal with.

This wonderful hospital is one that does not get the recognition it deserves, its warm and friendly and the very sad thing is too many people are too happy to bring it down.  This wonderful hospital gives back to people every second of every day with no questions asked, it gives the care and compassion that we all sometimes need a little bit of, no one is ever made to feel they don't belong. 

My only wish would be that someone reads this and gives them the thanks they deserve and never ask for. Thank you so very much to each and everyone of the members of staff. Care Compassion Dignity and Respect.
