Yesterday I gave birth to my 3rd and final baby and I could not be more grateful for the care I have received throughout.
Firstly I would like to thank Kirsten my community midwife who was absolutely incredible the entire time meaning we were able to build a good rapport. The continuity of care this time was much appreciated! I also had an appointment with Emily who listened to all of my concerns regarding previous bad experiences and actioned this accordingly for whenever I went into labour. Both of you are exemplary midwives and an absolute credit to the profession!
Gayle was my midwife on labour ward who was also fantastic! She took the time to speak about my preferences, respected my wishes and ensured effective communication occurred throughout as well as gaining informed consent, avoiding further trauma from previous experiences. Although this birth was very fast, intense and I lost control which has never happened before, this was such a redemptive experience for me and I will never be able to repay or thank Gayle enough for everything she did for me on her shift.
The care received on the postnatal ward was also exceptional. I’m absolutely delighted with my experience and will be forever in debt to every member of staff who helped me on my journey.
