"Kidney stone"

About: Darent Valley Hospital / Accident and emergency Darent Valley Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

I recently came to Darent and valley Dartford A&E as I had blood in the urine. As everyone knows the state of waiting in the hospital, after an initial assessment and few more eating hours I was asked to go home that I will get a letter for the CT scan. Cutting long story short, the CT scan was completed in July.

No report or follow up provided .

I got a terrible pain in left tummy and I somehow managed to reach the hospital around 11am. Again after an hour or more wait with severe pain I got a chance to meet the nurse. Explaining the situation I had mentioned  I had recently come here for blood in urine and CT scan was done. Doctor then looked at the report and mentioned that I have kidney stone .

I finally got to see a doctor around 6pm and they briefed about the surgery that will be carried out in the next morning.

Nothing to eat or drink from midnight.

I have been now waiting for almost 24 hours and every few hours they are coming and saying theatre is busy . I have been taking pain killers after pain killers. .

Doctors giving excuses on non availability of some machines in the weekend, not availability of a radiographer, not availability of theatre. My God, I was grateful that all these years I haven’t had come to the hospital and now finally I can understand why people are moaning about NHS.

I need to know once this procedure is completed what other alternative to NHS is available. It’s just a disgrace.
