I had a DES appointment arranged at Arbroath Infirmary. In the time between getting the appointment, and actually attending, I had another medical issue which required blood to be taken for lab to assess. Getting blood from me is an adventure in itself, and after two attempts at the gp surgery, I was referred to the Infirmary.
The appointment however was a long way off, but I mentioned to gp surgery that I was going there for a DES, so would ask if they could maybe squeeze me in, because one member of staff at the hospital always has success first time in getting blood.
I attended the hospital on Friday morning, 40 minutes before my DES appointment and spoke to the two ladies at reception desk. Between them, Wendy and Lorna contacted Michael and asked if he would be able to fit me into his schedule. Within 5 minutes, I was sitting in Michael's company, he got the blood taken and I was on my way to the waiting room for my DES.
Huge thanks must go to Lorna and Wendy for arranging this for me, and the same huge thanks to go to Michael as he was up to the task of getting blood first time as per normal. This is not the first time I have had first class treatment at this hospital. The staff here are always friendly helpful and very very efficient.
They are a credit to not only the hospital, but the town and the Health Board. Believe it or not, am looking forward to my next appointment. I mean that in the nicest possible terms.
Thank you team.
