"Treatment for alcohol dependence"

About: Staffordshire Treatment and Recovery Service - STARS

(as a service user),

I have been engaged with Stars for 3 months now. I am a recovering alcoholic, which is not an easy journey. My key worker, Jenni, is an extraordinary person who has been able to make me see my addiction in a different light, and allow me to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Even during a relapse, she and Stars were patient, understanding and empathetic. This is a service run by people who genuinely understand, and genuinely care about the outcomes of the people they meet.

From the same building the service also hosts a group called Betterway, whose staff all are recovering from addiction, so they have actual lived experience. This has also been important to me as I recover, and the connections that I have made and am making there are now invaluable to me.

I would recommend both Stars and Better way to everybody, and I am very grateful to have had their services in the last few months.

Thank you for taking the time to write this feedback.

It is great to see you are feeling positive about your journey. I will ensure Jenni receives this excellent feedback. I am glad that you feel understood by the team.

It is really positive that you are attending Betterway groups and that you have got alot of support and connections from them. Well done for engaging and getting the support you needed.

I wish you all the luck on your journey.
