"A Grateful Reflection on My Experience"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Clinical haematology

(as the patient),

I would like to take a moment to share my recent experience at Hairmyres Hospital, where I received treatment for Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).

Upon my arrival, I was alarmed to learn that my platelet count had plummeted to a critically low level of just 1, placing me at significant risk for severe bleeding.

As an outpatient, l attended a series of appointments in the haematology department.

From the moment I entered I was warmly welcomed by Annette and the reception team. Annette's friendly demeanour immediately put me at ease as she efficiently verified my details.

During my visits, I had the opportunity to consult with several doctors, but I would like to extend a special acknowledgment to Cameron. He exemplified the highest standards of medical care, demonstrating genuine compassion and attentiveness to my concerns, particularly regarding my CT scan, which had been a significant source of anxiety for me. Cameron took the time to thoroughly explain the necessity of the scan and addressed all my questions with clarity and patience. I am truly grateful for his support and guidance throughout this process.

Overall, my experience with the entire haematology team has been overwhelmingly positive, and I look forward to my upcoming appointments. Each member of the team is exceptional and represents a true asset to the NHS

Thank you all for your remarkable care.
