"My son had a positive experience"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Day Surgery

(as a parent/guardian),

My son Joe attended day surgery for tooth extraction. From the minute we arrived, the attentiveness and care from all staff couldn't be faulted at Crosshouse day surgery.

My son was reassured and treated with compassion to ensure the least stress in what could have been a difficult day. Every person he was in contact with treated him with great kindness and greeted him with a friendly smile.

The play worker in the kids play room was invaluable in keeping him distracted and busy whilst waiting on his slot for his procedure. The whole staff team clearly have good training and a greater understanding in an approach that allows kids to feel safe and calm at a vulnerable time.

My son has now had a positive experience. I can't thank the staff enough.

We try so hard to ensure that for everyone it is as smooth a journey as we can make it. I totally agree that having the playleader service is a great thing to help children play and stay calm before surgery. I will ensure I pass on your feedback to the whole team. My son has recovered fabulously and was able to spend time in the sun today. Staff deserve to be recognised for all the hard work they do, it is much appreciated.
