"Cost-cutting exercise at the expense of women's dignity"

About: Camglen Community Maternity

(as a service user),

I have just attended my booking appointment at the health centre.  During the appointment I was given a urine sample bottle and asked if I could provide a sample.  I asked if they had a bowl or something available for me to collect urine prior to transferring to the sample bottle.  I was advised they don't have them and they never do.  I was advised to take some gloves so I don't pee on my hands.

I was unable to collect enough of a sample as I needed to aim in to a tiny sample bottle.  I have now been asked to do another sample, hand it I'm to my GP practice to be transferred to the lab for screening.  I feel if this is a cost cutting exercise at the expense of women's dignity, it's completely unreasonable.  I don't feel this is the fault of the midwives but more likely a decision made from their managers which needs to be quickly reviewed to improve patient experience.
