"Outstanding standards and levels of service"

About: Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Accident & Emergency Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (Edinburgh) / Dunvegan Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

My son had 2 surgeries and then was sent to the Dunvegan ward.

He is only 6 and non verbal and has been in pain for over 3 years.

I was amazed and very grateful for the level of his  are from the surgeons, the surgical team and the ward staff.

Sadly we had to go back to hospital a few days after but the A&E service was fabulous and again my son was dealt with amazingly.

When we went back to the ward, he was given the same room and he loved it and especially the view of cars and buses outside.

Outstanding standards and levels of service, wish I'd had this care and service elsewhere.

I'd never want to take my son anywhere else.

Dear severityzf67,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding your son's admissions to A&E and the Dunvegan Ward.

I am sorry to read of your son's requirements for the two surgery's and then a subsequent further trip back to A&E, but I am glad that all the team throughout were able to provide you all with such high levels of care. I am sure that being able to look out of the window and watch the cars and buses going by will have given him some distraction at a scary time and unknown time for him.

I have passed this story over to the teams at A&E and Dunvegan ward, and I am sure they will be delighted to read this as well.

I hope your son is home and recovering well,

Best wishes,

Claire

Dear severityzf67,

As one of the Senior Charge Nurses in the surgical wards it is wonderful to hear you had such a good experience on Dunvegan ward.

A room with a view is always a hit!

We appreciate you taking the time to feedback to us and your kind comments have been shared with all the staff.

Many thanks

Catherine
