"My mum's treatment"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Monklands / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My mum was admitted to A&E recently as NHS Inform said that the symptoms described could be cardio issues. However the ambulance didn’t arrive for 2 hours and the on-call doctor then said would you possibly be able to go there yourself so I took my mum to A&E.

Quite alarmed that NHS Inform hadn’t made a referral or passed on any information to the hospital when I got there. Although we waited in to see a doctor for 4 hours and get the results of her tests, I would like to acknowledge the doctor, who was brilliant.

The doctor was kind, professional, caring and helpful, being very patient with my mum and explaining everything really well and answering our questions.
