"Supported through pregnancy"

About: Maternity care / Delivery suite / MLU Maternity care / Maternity assessment unit Maternity care / Maternity Ward Southern Health & Social Care Trust / Continuity of Midwifery Carer Service

(as the patient),

I gave birth to my second baby two weeks ago at Daisy Hill hospital. As baby was measuring small, I was in every other day for checks and scans in the last few weeks of my pregnancy and dealt with multiple midwives and doctors. Every staff member was kind, caring and reassuring.

This pregnancy was through the Continuity Team at Daisy Hill who were amazing throughout my pregnancy, labour and postnatal period. A special mention to my main midwife Lydia who checked in with me throughout the pregnancy and provided reassurance and support. Dr Kumar was a fantastic Consultant and kept us informed and supported throughout.

Abby was amazing as my midwife in the delivery suite and made every effort to ensure I had the labour I had hoped for. Rebekah the student midwife was also fantastic during my delivery. I haemorrhaged during my labour and all the midwives and doctors were proactive and reassuring during a scary few minutes in the delivery suite.

I will definitely be recommending the Continuity Team to future mums to be as I loved getting to know and trust the small team of brilliant ladies. Judith the lactation specialist on the Maternity Ward was fantastic with supporting me through the first few difficult days of Breastfeeding too. Thank you to the all the Maternity Team at Daisy Hill for a lovely experience!
