"Fractured bone"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency Royal Alexandra Hospital / Fracture Clinic (orthopaedics)

(as the patient),

I fell and injured my ankle. I knew it was more than a sprain so I went to the A&E department. I was clerked in and triaged very quickly and efficiently. Within an hour I was seen by the orthopaedic nurse specialist, Chris. He was brilliant. Got me to xray, explained clearly and patiently what was wrong then went on to fit me with a moon boot and crutches, again clear instructions on how to manage things. He was so professional, clearly great at his job but very human.

I was due to check in for jury service next day and was told I needed evidence of why I couldn’t attend. I called the orthopaedic help line and spoke to nurse Linda, again a fantastic experience. She sorted me out in no time and I very quickly received a copy of my treatment paperwork from Darren in the admin dept. His email again demonstrated kindness and efficiency. These people are just excellent. Thank you.
