"Prompt treatment by GP"

About: General practices in Greater Glasgow & Clyde

(as the patient),

I returned from holiday with a swollen red finger which was getting progressively worse. I tried my pharmacy but was redirected to my GP. I spoke to Ruth the receptionist who was very helpful taking my details and giving me an email address to send a photograph to the duty Doctor.

Within ten minutes I had a call back from Dr Dooley who has always been an excellent supportive GP to me (as have all the GPs at this practice. She looked at the photo and took some more details and I had antibiotics within 30 minutes.

Excellent service and prompt treatment which hopefully stopped me getting a very painful paronychia infection.

Dear cmcla81

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your recent experience of attending your GP practice.

We’re delighted to hear that you received such prompt and effective care following your return from holiday. It’s wonderful to know that Ruth, our receptionist, was so helpful in quickly guiding you through the process, and that Dr Dooley was able to review your photo, speak with you, and arrange treatment so efficiently.

Your kind recognition of both Dr Dooley and the wider team means a great deal. We’re proud to know that our GPs continue to provide the supportive, responsive care that makes a real difference to patients — especially when timely treatment can help prevent a more serious issue, as in your case.

Thank you once again for your thoughtful feedback. We’re pleased to hear you're on the mend and wish you a full and speedy recovery.

If you’d like us to share your feedback with the staff involved, please let us know the name of your GP practice below, and we’ll ensure your comments are passed on to them for their awareness and appreciation.

Kind regards

Kevin
