The staff were so lovely and caring, knowledgeable and reassuring! The sonographer and the support worker both took great care of us, I can't fault the care I received at all.
However I think it's worth mentioning that the 'educational videos' about babies not moving, fetal alcohol syndrome and SIDS are ill placed. Many people visit the department because they're already worried about their baby, they don't need to be subjected to more anxiety inducing content while they wait for their scan. It's also a bit pointless to encourage people who are already attending hospital to attend hospital. Perhaps these videos would be more suitable in the community midwives waiting rooms? As a mental health professional I think it would be a lot more beneficial to anxious parents to have something distracting playing on the screen.
