"I felt seen and well looked after."

About: Maternity care / Antenal Ward (A ward)

(as the patient),

I had a threatened preterm labour quite recently and the experience I had was nothing short of scary and exasperating. I was admitted in A Ward and was well looked after by the night shift midwives who took the time to introduce themselves and establish rapport in a heartbeat-- namely Adrienne and Alexandra. My baby and I were greatly looked after and I was also reassured by the medical team during the morning rounds. Thank you for the amazing care and dedication to your craft!

Special shout out to Adrienne who remembered me from my previous pregnancy and even my baby. Your friendliness and warmth is Godsent and what makes you an even greater midwife.

Dear Mommaoftwo,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback about your experience of care within the inpatient antenatal ward. I will share your feedback with both Adrienne, Alexandra and the whole antenatal inpatient ward team.

When being admitted in pregnancy for threatened preterm birth it can often feel a very scary experience, separated from your family and unsure about what lies ahead. It is lovely to hear that you felt safe and supported and well informed by both the midwifery and obstetric teams. Having staff explain but also reassure you helps make an often daunting experience feel more manageable.

Kind and friendly staff can really help calm a stressful situation and I am sure the care you received from Adrienne who is such a lovely midwife helped make this experience more positive.

I wish you all the best.

Kind Regards,

Susanne Thomas O'Boyle

Lead Midwife
