"My family nurse"

About: Public Health Nursing / Family Nurse Partnership

(as a service user),

I meet Barbara when I was pregnant, she helped me navigate pregnancy. Once my daughter was born she had bad reflux and colic, Barbara was by my side offering me lots of help and support. I didn’t have a lot of family support and I really feel like she stepped into that roll and that’s something I am really grateful for. I really struggled to cope once my partner went back to work night shift and she got me the appropriate help, she made me feel better and reassured me a lot of mums go through the same things. If there ever was any issues that I needed help with or just was unsure I knew Barbara was on the other end of the phone.

Once my daughter turned 1 I was really worried about her walking Barbara helped me through this and gave the support and advice on ways to help my daughter. When my daughter was struggling to sleep Barbara gave great advice and a lot of options I could try. No matter what the issue I knew I could ask Barbara, I really enjoyed seeing Barbara and I will miss her. She helped me so much x

Dear Statuste37

My name is Geraldine Doherty and I work as a Lead Nurse within Public Health Nursing. Thank you for taking the time to share this lovely feedback about Barbara and the excellent care you have received from her.

Having support as a parent is something everyone needs and I am so glad to hear that you had such brilliant care, support & advice from Barbara in the last few years as a new mum.

I will ensure your feedback is shared with Barbara, her manager and team and I know it will be greatly appreciated. It is always good as a team to receive recognition of the high standard of care that has been provided.

I wish you and your daughter all the very best and hope that your family continues to enjoy the support of Public Health Nursing with your Health Visitor following transition from Family Nurse Partnership

Many thanks

Geraldine
